Network actively to secure funding and know what is coming next in your district. Find out who at your district plans and orders materials for the Ed. Tech? What are the school, district, and state rules for you, as a teacher, to write grants to fund Ed. Tech materials? Match your Ed. Tech. plans to the curriculum for your state. Find out how Ed Tech is paid for in your area because the process is very different depending on the funding source. Attend any meetings or groups or advisory committees you can to determine how things are run in your district. You're unlikely to just be able to do a web search.

In EdTech, navigating growth hinges on setting strategic milestones. Break down ambitious goals into actionable steps, like mastering a new coding language or launching a pilot program. These milestones not only measure progress but also foster adaptability in a dynamic field. Embrace each achievement as a stepping stone, refining your trajectory based on emerging trends and personal insights. Setting clear goals is vital in your performance and success. There can be short term as well as long term objectives that you want to achieve. Personally, I breakdown the long term milestones in to small achievable goals so that I can reach my milestone eventually. I have seen some educators who tried to achieve a long term milestone at once but I must say that it's not possible at all if we don't focus on the minor aspects which help us to achieve our target. So, the best is to break your goals into steps and within a period of time, you will reach your target with a great performance skills.

When you set EdTech milestones for your classroom, make sure they align with both ISTE standards and your state standards. Your principal and possibly district will likely have ideas about EdTech, but not necessarily know how to implement those ideas. It is your job to hand them a plan. Have a pilot program mentality that includes ideas you have researched well. Include professional development for yourself. Follow up with your redelivery plan and a secondary purchase plan to disseminate your plan to additional classrooms and schools in your district. When possible, seek to use EdTech instruction to authentically address the gender gap, access for special populations gap, and increase diversity in STEM fields.

A lot of professional development opportunities exist. Industry conferences bring vendors, curriculum providers, and veteran teachers together for a few days to a week. Get yourself to at least one conference a year. Start small at state conferences, then build to regional conferences. At first, join low-cost teacher associations like Computer Science Teachers of America. Sign up for ISTE professional development. Build from there.

Immersing yourself in EdTech through hands-on experiences is pivotal. Seek internships or volunteer roles where you can deploy your skills in practical contexts. From crafting interactive learning modules to refining user interfaces, each project offers insights that shape your expertise.
