I've worked with edtech since CD ROMs (may need to Google that one) and there has always been resistance to adopting new tech in the training room, but this is just fuelled by the misconception that training can either be 'instructor led' or 'online', but not both; this isn't the case at all. Technology can bring a range of benefits to a training room environment such as interactive scenarios, product simulators, and even now conversational/soft skills development through gen-AI integrations. My advice is to view tech as just another tool in the instructional design tools box; it's how you use it that counts.
