Be sure to be aware of the content needed per screen, be aware of the information architecture and how much content or inputs you've enabled the user to do at once. Using a consistent design system and components that adapt and wrap at appropriate time with proper alignment. Having global padding that adjusts at different media queries is largely helpful.

Even before anything at the presentation layer is addressed, make sure you have a unified data strategy driving the experience. This is especially valuable when you’re dealing with a product that differs slightly i.e. between mobile and desktop versions. Users should feel familiar when switching between them even though some attributes may vary.

It’s important to test everything. And especially focus on end to end scenarios that real people have. Typically, just the core scenarios are tested and they work fine. But in a real world situation, people are going across devices and change their mind and want to do something different later on. Or pick up where they were. And most test scenarios aren’t set up for this complexity, which is missed, and unfortunately ends up broken.

The dark and light modes are an important part of accessible design as well. So every element of the website needs to be adjusted on both modes. Thanks to variables now it's easier to make.

When you design for web and mobile, though both platforms are digital and equally important, their audience might be different.
