One thing I found helpful was engaging with the client at the most earliest convenience. Listing possible risk factors which could potentially delay the project and going through them step by step to help eliminate the potential risk and also booking in contingency dates in case planned works don’t go ahead as scheduled. Theres always an option of increasing possible manpower to cut down the delivery date but this must be done in a concise and effective manner.

Alternative solution is very eminent in meeting the stakeholders expectation in project management. There was a time we had issue with delay in supply of materials needed on site.
