When schedules are packed and priorities clash, a few simple strategies can make a big difference. Try setting aside specific time blocks for your most important tasks, and add buffer time between meetings to handle any surprises. Matching tasks to your energy levels also helps—tackle the toughest work when you’re at your best and save routine tasks for when your energy dips. Cross-training your team can also be a game-changer, allowing urgent tasks to be shared without missing a beat. Finally, keep reassessing priorities as things change so you stay focused on what really matters.

Effective scheduling, Tasks mapping and Active communication is the key to avoiding any conflicts when it comes to completing tasks. Tasks should be classified and mapped through the practice's monthly, weekly and daily active timelines based on Clinical / Non - clinical, High priority/ Low priority and according to Prime importance / Less importance. Tasks mapping can be used as a communication and guiding tool for deligating duties and responsibilities to clinical and non - clinical staff according to their roles in the practice. Making good use of practice management softwares helps in scheduling multiple tasks, setting reminders and also establishing effective communication with the clients

Here are a few suggestions: 1. Assess the priority of tasks - Urgency v/s Importance: Urgent and Important; Important but Not Urgent; Urgent but Not Important; Neither Urgent nor Important 2. Allocate specific blocks of time for different categories of tasks–important tasks to be done while you are most productive. 3. Set clear expectations with stakeholders regarding availability & deadlines. 4. Wherever possible, leverage tools to keep track of deadlines & appointments. 5. Identify tasks that can be delegated to others-this can free up your time for higher-priority tasks. 6. "Time is the most precious resource we have" and managing it effectively is an art. My time management for today starts the previous day. The first and foremost task is to schedule the work at a specific time and to make sure all the staff are prepared for it. But even after that, we do come across some unexpected schedule conflicts. The key to efficiency is having enough manpower and technology at our work which can deal with this unexpected conflict. Delegating work saves time and makes things go smoothly. But even after all these, if things don't go accordingly, it's absolutely fine. Let's not take stress. It's just another day, another time. Today's gone and tomorrow's gonna bring is more opportunities to improve ourselves.
