Putting priorities means to have a list of the needs which are most important for vessel's life that you think are absolutely necessary and cannot make any decrease of the quality.

My experience of 42 years in shipping and the CEO of a ship owning company tells me that budgetary constraints are common and it's possible to get over the shortage of funds by diligent management . Every business, every task is a ' people's ' game. It is only the people involved are capable of doing a task with dedication, fortitude and efficiency, with the constrains of material. This needs a great sense of belonging and self motivation to achieve this. If the people, crew, are inspired to work with the ' ownership attitude ' this will be achieved. .

En mi opinión, esta es una estrategia sensata y práctica. La clave radica en una planificación y gestión cuidadosas, que permitan optimizar el uso de los recursos disponibles. Al enfocarse en los componentes críticos y buscar alternativas para los no críticos, es posible mantener la calidad del producto final sin exceder el presupuesto. Esto requiere una comprensión profunda de los procesos de construcción y de los factores que afectan tanto los costos como la calidad, así como una capacidad para adaptarse a las fluctuaciones del mercado y a las circunstancias imprevistas.

In most instances, the build specification will require a certain material grade. And if that material needs to have a form of type-approval/certification, and if the said material is not a common grade that is produced; that will significantly impact the source(s) of your supply. No siempre podemos valorar la compra o empleo de un material basado en el costo inicial, menos en el mundo naval expuesto a la agresividad ambiental y a la operatividad y riesgo por el entorno en que se desarrolla, donde debemos poner primero la seguridad ante todo y la mantenivilidad consecuentemente. Por ello, nada hacemos con hacer una compra varata de un material necesario que nos conlleve a una parada con sus consecuentes costos para que la durabilidad del mismo sea de un periodo inferior al que se consiguiese con uno quizás más caro, pero de mayor calidad y por consiguiente, durabilidad. El costo inicial es muy importante tenerlo en cuenta, pero no ponerlo como determinante, pues la fiabilidad está primero.

In fact quality never compromise that is true however to control the cost in my analysis if engineers works more in detail of product about their manufacturing process, material composition and certification there are many scopes like all parts are not special, in that case only particular parts can be arranged and carry out subassembly to achieve the quality product. For example one supplier can produce pipes SS mat but flange at the two ends to be super duplex mat. In that case if we purchase the flange from a different supplier and assembly then we can reduce the cost instead buying the complete product from a renowned manufacture
