Las mejores relaciones con proveedores son como buenas amistades profesionales, se nutren de confianza, comunicación honesta y objetivos alineados y por supuesto bajo la idea de gano-ganas. También aplica el desarrollo de proveedores que te lleva a asociaciones duraderas. No se trata solo de contratos, sino de crear valor juntos, ser flexibles ante los cambios y potenciar el crecimiento mutuo.

Firstly the approach should shift from Vendor to Partner, this itself makes both entities to work as one organisation. While this is done, three things are imperative a) Better forecasting and planning from our side to partner, b) Periodic defined review mechanism to have quality discussions and c) Flexibility to adopt changes hence best practice sharing from both sides is very crucial. As per my learning these things makes a long term approach definite aligned to organisational goal.

In my experience, while many hesitate to share too much with vendors, it is best to be open about where they stand, how their opportunities for growth with your organization might play out and also expected timing, while being open that things can quickly change. Relationships will build from being respectful of each other's time. Treat a vendor as a partner but with similar accountability you might exercise with an internal partner. Deliver bad news if needed rather than vague responses. and consider that someday you may be working with them in a different professional relationship!
