In Brazil, we are experiencing this type of conflict on a daily basis. Renewable and intermittent power plants (wind and solar) are undergoing curtailment processes by the system operator. In my opinion, what should be done would be better integration between the various sources. A more in-depth study of the hybridization of hydroelectric plants could guarantee the priority dispatch of alternative sources and the storage of energy in the form of water in reservoirs.

The price of batteries is coming down phenomenally & we should see more solar coming with batteries. This aspect will enhance solar power availability & support system stability. This factor will also allow for increased penetration of renewables in the grid.
