I feel communication is best key. A team leader should talk with everyone on monthly or quarterly 1:1. So both of them will be on the same page, which will avoid future conflicts. Appreciating all the hardwork on periodic basis is must. If you are not appreciating the experienced people in the team, they will eventually leave the team. Which is offcourse very bad for everyone.
