First, engage in direct communication with the individual by discussing the issue privately, expressing your concerns, and clarifying the contributions made by each team member. Back up your claims by providing concrete evidence such as documentation, emails, or other relevant materials that substantiate your role in the work. If the issue persists or escalates, seek support from colleagues or supervisors by discussing the situation, presenting your evidence, and collaborating on a resolution that protects your professional reputation and ensures fair recognition for your efforts.

An example of how I have handled this type of situation before is to speak privately with the person taking credit. Asking why they felt they were the one who deserved the credit to open up and why you feel that was unethical. Make sure to have a solid log of all work: documents, emails, messages, etc. If the the both of you cannot come to an agreement, involve superiors. Most workplaces use platforms that show a history of work in the documents used.

Actually , It's not enough to address the credit stealing. I will also need to make the situation right, and get the credit I deserve. If the other person recognizes their mistake, I might request that they send an email acknowledging my contributions, or we can both talk to our manager to set the record straight.
